Music for Everyone

The Kingdom Singers

We are a mixed four part choir of around 20 singers who perform a wide repertoire to many groups throughout Central Scotland. We formed in 1994 under the direction of Arthur Sutton.

We now perform under the direction of Willie Campbell and we are very fortunate to welcome Robert Gardner as our accompanist.  We have also been fortunate to have Janet Barbour step in to accompany a concert when Robert was not available.

In June 2014 we travelled to Wilhelmshaven in Germany – one of Dunfermline’s twin towns. We first visited in 2008 to sing with a capella choir, Coro Piccolo. They then visited us in 2009 and we had a wonderful time with them on our last visit.

Willie Campbell, Musical DIrector

Willie first took up post as an organist choirmaster when he was 16 in 1971. Since then he has been an organist in churches all round Scotland. He was head of music in a Glasgow secondary before moving into school and education management. He moved to Dunfermline in 2000 and has been a member of the Gilbert and Sullivan Society for 16 years, and has often been their musical director for summer and Christmas concerts.

You might also recognise him as the Assistant Organist in Dunfermline Abbey.

He is hugely enjoying his new role as MD of the Kingdom Singers and has a number of ideas up his sleeve for future repertoire.
